In the sixth paragraph in the "Streaming career" section, link {Charlie "Cr1tikal" White} to White's Wikipedia page here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cr1TiKaL FSG 4444 (talk) 03:25, 24 January 2021 (UTC)

Subathon length and date or him becoming the most subscribed Twitch Streamer

In the second paragraph, first line, it states "From March 22, 2021 to May 12, 2021, Ahgren was the most subscribed streamer on Twitch." This is not true -- He was only the most subscribed to streamer for a single day, April 13th, 2021, as Twitch subscriptions expire after a month. After that day his amount of subscriptions to his channel went under the number 2 (Ninja). Also, the "subathon" in question lasted from March 13, 2021 to April 13th, 2021[1] -- Not sure where the number of "51" came from there. ThatOneEndre (talk) 17:46, 28 September 2021 (UTC)

Re: First paragraph of early life

The first sentence (and paragraph because of the way it's formatted) of the Early Life section reads "Ahgren grew up in a French American bilingual household in Hollis, New Hampshire along with his mother and sister." The way this is written, it seems to imply that his mother and sister were both growing up with him. Any suggestions on how to fix this without fundamentally altering the sentence?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but I'm not sure how that reading would be incorrect. AllegedlyHuman (talk) 17:20, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

French-speaking household but a German name?

Is there a mistake in the article? The lad should be Ludovic, not Ludwig in a French-speaking household. 5.18.244.22 (talk) 19:57, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

Not done His name is Ludwig. People can give their children pretty much any name they want. (If you still think his name is Ludovic, find sources to back it up.) AllegedlyHuman (talk) 21:20, 28 March 2021 (UTC)

request for (payed) twitch subscriber information in infobox

i think it could be beneficial if ludwig's payed twitch subscriber count was in the infobox under his twitch followers, however i do not know how to put it in properly in the correct spot and i dont want to vandalize the page. if someone could do that for me that would e wonderful. GameCreepr (talk) 20:44, 10 April 2021 (UTC)

@GameCreepr: {{Infobox Twitch streamer}} does not have a subscriber count parameter. — Pbrks (talk) 02:53, 23 June 2021 (UTC)

Associated acts: WP:NOTEVERYTHING or not?

Hello fellow editors,

The latest edit to this page is yet another addition to the "associated acts" in the Infobox, which features other prominent streamers Ludwig is collaborating with or has in the past collaborated with. Unfortunately, said list is getting very crowded and hasn't been discussed on this article, since everyone wants to add their own favorite streamer to "associate" to Ludwig.

I tried looking at Template:Infobox_Twitch_streamer for more information on what "associated acts" means but it was unfortunately added without a description. Nethertheless, it seems to be intended for the use made by past editors, which is to add associated streaming personalities. It is worth noting that like all other infobox informations, it is optional. I am concerned that the "associated acts" falls outside the boundary of WP:NOTEVERYTHING if the list is exhaustive as it is today.

I am not a fan of the associated acts category, but if we had to keep it, I would like the list reduced to the personalities Ludwig (1) is currently associated with; (2) have been in Ludwig's circle for a significant time (3) are in a partnership with Ludwig that differentiates them from other creators. As a result, I propose we add Atrioc, Stanz, and optionally Slime to the list; Keep Cr1TiKaL on the list given that he has hosted a show (Hivemind) with Ludwig which is set to resume for a second season, keep Mang0 given he streams with Ludwig every Friday, and keep QTCinderella as the two are dating and frequently collaborate and stream together. I propose we remove all the following from the list: Sykkuno, Corpse Husband, Valkyrae, Alpharad, Mizkif, DisguisedToast, GeoWizard, as they infrequently collaborate with Ludwig.

I'd like you to answer the following three questions when discussing this issue:

  • Do you think we need an associated acts category? Why/Why not?
  • What criteria should we use to determine which streamers to include?
  • Should we add or remove some streamers from the list?

Thanks, Pilaz (talk) 16:44, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

This hasn't attracted much attention, so I was bold and removed the ones mentioned above. Pilaz (talk) 13:39, 21 November 2021 (UTC)

Add Follower and View count in "Twitch information"

External links

Not sure how many people watch this page, but I'm pretty sure we could do with trimming the external links in the infobox. I don't see a point to still link directly to the Twitch when Ludwig does not stream there anymore (maybe for historical reasons?). I also think we could easily remove "Online Lore" since it probably would confuse people if anything (no mention in the article). Instead, we could easily replace it with The Yard. I'm also going to cut "Ludwin Clips", "Ludwig VODs", and "Mogul Mail" since they are all easily found from browsing the main channel. This is all done to comply with WP:ELMIN (suggesting we try to only have a minimal amount of external links even if they are official).

Finally, I am going make all the above changes besides removing the Twitch link (not entirely sure how to handle that one). I will also add an external links section with both the main YouTube link and the Yard link (no Twitch tho). –MJLTalk 21:03, 11 February 2022 (UTC)

Hi MJL, long time no see (you left the welcome message on my userpage two years ago - now I'm stuck in a loop, responding to AfD threads: I blame you). I think two or three people are active watchlisters, so your message is not in vain. Removing the Twitch link is alright, and removing the secondary channels too (especially "Online Lore", which isn't even official). The Yard is the significant #2 Ludwig project so having only those two there seems fine to me. We may have to preach the good word of WP:ELMIN to similar streamer article pages (there's an overlap of newer editors), like Sykkuno, Valkyrae, Pokimane, Disguised Toast, etc. I'll see what I can do. Cheers! Pilaz (talk) 00:12, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
@Pilaz: No kidding! Ah, dang that's awesome!! I absolutely love to seeing people I've welcomed to the project still around! :D
Also, I completely agree with your changes to the articles you just mentioned.
With that, I am going to just WP:BEBOLD and remove the Twitch link then. –MJLTalk 06:20, 12 February 2022 (UTC)

Definition of "non-video game related content"

Is it necessary to define what non-video game related content he engages in within the beginning of the article? I find it somewhat unnecessary, especially because we do not define what video game related content he engages with. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Smiley Abalone (talkcontribs) 23:35, 30 April 2022 (UTC)

Including "ShitCamp" in image caption

I will also be putting this discussion on xQc's talk page.

I once put the name of the event, ShitCamp, in the image caption, but it was removed shortly after. I was hoping to keep it included since it's a significant event per these cited sources,[1][2][3] but now I'm starting to consider WP:VULGAR along with it. L33tm4n (talk) 17:44, 19 July 2022 (UTC)

The subscription counts for all channels are outdated and need to be updated. Current channel subscription counts are as follows: Ludwig: 3.6M Mogul Mail: 968K The Yard: 275K Ludwin Clips: 595K Lud and Schlatts Musical Emporium: 309K Ludwig VODs: 193K Jayismit (talk) 15:10, 20 October 2022 (UTC)

Button-mashing section inaccuracy

Claiming that Ludwig was able to go "faster than a tool-assisted speedrun bot designed to be the fastest possible" is a misconception (originating from the Polygon source). Ludwig achieved his higher score on a modified version of the game that removes some of the limits on mashing speed. Check the update to this Kotaku article: https://kotaku.com/someone-mashed-buttons-so-fast-they-broke-mario-party-4-1839756935 Asup759 (talk) 14:45, 23 October 2022 (UTC)

@Asup759: Thanks for noticing this. I added both viewpoints as per WP:V: "If there is a disagreement between sources, use in-text attribution". — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 16:11, 23 October 2022 (UTC)

Swipe

Recently, Ludwig has released Swipe, a bidet (bidet.gg). His announcement is on his Twitter, and he advertised it during the Ludwig Smash Invitational. Are there any secondary sources to add info about Swipe onto this page?

Cheers, SpiderBreadIRL (talk) 15:52, 26 October 2022 (UTC)

@SpiderBreadIRL: Nothing reliable sadly. –MJLTalk 06:16, 29 October 2022 (UTC)
I added it. TheGamer's articles after August 2020 are reliable per WP:VG/S. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 15:04, 29 October 2022 (UTC)
IMO, TheGamer doesn't quite meet WP:RS status because of a history of poor fact-checking and corrections. I've been planning to challenge its status at WP:RSN for a while, so it can stay for now, but another source would be most welcome. Pilaz (talk) 18:04, 29 October 2022 (UTC)
Alright, sounds good. The only other sources I can find are Game Rant (not to be used for BLP's per WP:VG/S) and Tubefilter (unsure on RS). — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 18:08, 29 October 2022 (UTC)

mogul mail?

on may 23, 2016, he started his mogul mail youtube channel, it currently has 1.07 million subscribers... he technically has like four or five other channels, but none of them are as big as ludwig and mogul mail.

im just wondering if that isnt worth mentioning in the article..?

thanks Snarevox (talk) 12:46, 5 December 2022 (UTC)

Only if secondary reliable sources report on it. Google News returns a few promising results. — PerfectSoundWhatever (t; c) 17:53, 5 December 2022 (UTC)

Ludwig‘s 2021 Esports Awards nomination for streamer of the year is missing under "Awards and nominations" and should be added.
