Starting now. Couple of queries, Antonin.

  • TV cycle Jazzový herbář: is this a TV series?
re:Yes, it was a TV series in five parts. --Vejvančický (talk) 08:05, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
  • Any chance of clearer chronology in one instance? We've some exact dates (to the year) but one thing is less so (namely the 70's). This is difficult to combine: could we perhaps move -

In the same decade, he organised night-time jam sessions in the "poetic wine bar" Viola, renamed his band Jazz Sanatorium and helped the young musicians in his ensemble to get ahead.[1]

to just after: In 1968, following the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia he emigrated to Switzerland, but could find no work in connection to music and soon returned. His wife and daughter remained abroad.[2] As an returned emigrant he was listed as "politically undesirable", a considerable obstacle in finding new music engagements.

Would that be right?

re:This is excellent, Davey. The problem is, that my source isn't very clear and the chronology was a bit confusing also for me. I checked all facts again carefully:
  • He was ocassionally engaged in the "poetic wine bar" Viola already in 1960s, but that's not a problem, it isn't necessary to mention it.
  • Jazz sanatorium was rather a new band, but Hulan played also with his old friends from Jazz Studio and the line-up often changed - it's also possible to say that it was renamed.

The rest is perfect and fits well with my sources. Thank you. --Vejvančický (talk) 08:05, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • such a sad way to die - I've been cagey but medically accurate so far as needs to be said. It sounds like he died either from blood loss within the lung airspace or from severe haemothorax. Either one is pretty grim, poor guy. Do you need more than I've put? Best Regards. Haploidavey (talk) 22:37, 8 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
re:One of my sources says, that Hulan was under the influence of alcohol and some pills shortly befory his death...
  • Source:Dorůžka, Lubomír (2002). Český jazz mezi tanky a klíči (1968-1989). Prague: Torst. p. 260. ISBN 8072151673. {{cite book}}: Cite has empty unknown parameter: |coauthors= (help) (in Czech)

Is it appropriate to include it? The source is very reputable, apart from Jelínek - there are some speculations in online sources, that Jelínek had drunk too much and this led to the slow decline of his career. However, the most credible source, Jelínek's profile by Czech musicologist and jazz expert Ivan Poledňák, doesn't mention it. Personally I think that our information is sufficient. Thanks many times, you deserve all Wikipedia medals :)) --Vejvančický (talk) 08:05, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, Antonin. I've addressed the issues above, and agree that the circumstances of his death need no further elaboration. I really like the way you've handled this article, and it's been a pleasure to work on. Regards. Haploidavey (talk) 14:39, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
It still needs a tad more on the English front, but minor stuff and I'll come back to it in a day or two. Haploidavey (talk) 14:51, 9 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
