Serious issue with identification
editThis article refers to Lucius Tampius Flavianus, as does the list of Roman consuls for 76 AD. Tacitus and Smith, however, both refer only to a T. Ampius Flavianus, whose history as governor of Pannonia is reproduced here. I believe that someone has conflated two different Flaviani, as the sources do not otherwise link the Pannonian governor and the suffect consul. If someone has evidence indicating that these two are identical, it should probably be referenced within the article text.
I also note that the Fundi inscription cited here appears to make no reference to Flavianus at all, instead referencing a C. Calvisius C. f. Sabinus. However, I have independently found another inscription reference to L. Tampius Flavianus (CIL 06.2051).
