Talk:List of hospitals in New York (state)

Latest comment: 1 month ago by JCC the Alternate Historian in topic Hospital articles still have old link

This edit

This merge suggestion was half added back in May, so I thought I'd best finish it off, and comment here. These lists are almost (but not quite) duplicate of each other, so they should be merged into one, with a redirect added to the other. -Ladybirdintheuk 11:47, 18 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes, let's go ahead with the merge. I don't think anyone cares. --DavidShankBone 13:09, 9 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Why not?

Go for it, if you have the time, but the article should be under this article's name, NOT the "...New York state" in order to be consistent with the rest of the articles' names.

What's that note?? edit

What does the note "the hospital spells out the word "Saint" so that's proper", attached to "Saint Joseph's Medical Center, Yonkers", mean? Jackrepenning 23:26, 18 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

--

I assume it means that Saint Joseph's seems to consistently spell out "Saint" instead of abbreviating it "St." like other places. If it matters to them, okay - seems sort of silly, though. (In that vein, I think I've decided to be Mister Kurt as opposed to Mr. Kurt.)

Page dissaster recovery edit

Hi,

I was going to add ORBIS International to the article and for some reason, the article is truncated after having hit the button of "Save page". Would Wiki Admin please bring the previous version back? Thanks

It's rather simple to restore a previous version. See Help:Reverting. You may have hit the "Save page" button before the entire page was loaded. Tinlinkin 16:19, 1 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Middletown? edit

Why doesn't Middletown State Hospital have its own article? It looks important. Its currently abandoned. --24.21.148.212 (talk) 08:53, 17 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

added Middletown State Hospital as a redirect to Middletown State Homeopathic Hospital Pi314m (talk) 23:53, 17 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Conversion to table edit

To make this article more useful, I am in the process of adding data on beds, dates established and counties and putting everything in a table. I am working on it one section at a time. There is also now a geogroup map that shows the hospitals on a map for those with coordinates. I am getting coordinates from the article or Google Maps. This will help find any errors in coordinates or duplicates in the list.

Update: I added the Health System as a separate column in the hospital list. I deleted the hospital lists in the Health System section since it is now in the table. Found several hospitals that were defunct, so I put them in the Defunct hospitals table, except for the military and psychiatric hospitals that still include the defunct hospitals. These were smaller lists and keeping the defunct hospitals in them made sense to me. -- Talk to G Moore 16:03, 9 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hospital articles still have old link edit

I should note that New York hospitals still have the old link to List of hospitals in New York rather than List of hospitals in New York (state). I tried fixing the link over on the A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital article, but it didn't go so well. JCC the Alternate Historian (talk) 22:55, 30 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
