Review edit

Dear @Rosguill: thank you for taking the time to review this article I created! As an improvement point you have suggested that the lead section is too long.

I am reviewing the guidance (MOS:LEADLENGTH) as included in the tag, and one rule of thumb is that articles with over 30,000 characters would usually have 3-4 paragraphs. The displayed text of the article (not the underlying wiki markup, and also excluding references) count over 45,000 characters (or over 52,000 if spaces are counted).

Also, as I understand it, for articles that are stand-alone lists, the Manual of Style (WP:SALLEAD) encourages the inclusion of the following:

A stand-alone list should begin with a lead section that (1) summarizes its content, (2) provides any necessary background information, (3) gives encyclopedic context, (4) links to other relevant articles, (5) and makes direct statements about the criteria by which members of the list were selected(...) (numbering and underline added by me).

It was my (at least intended) careful observance of the Manual Style (specific to these kinds of articles) that led me to writing a lead section that is as long as it is. I believe that these rules, specific to stand-alone list articles, require at least one more piece of information that lead sections of other articles do not: outlining a criteria for inclusion (point 5 above). This is one of the main reasons why the lead sections appears longer than it would be otherwise.

Also, as I was drafting and refining this article, I sought to follow the example of List of scientific publications by Albert Einstein as the "gold standard", given the prominence of its subject and the fact that it is rated as a Featured Article (top quality). The "Einstein list" article has a lead section a bit longer than this article here under review: the "Einstein list" article's lead has just over 400 words, and the "NK human rights" article's lead has just over 300 words.

The current lead section under review has five paragraphs, with one of them having a single phrase. If you deem it advisable, I could consolidate them and reduce the paragraph count from five to four. Is there something else that you would recommend me reducing in length? Thank you! @Al83tito: given your explanation, I think it's fine as it is. As a new page reviewer, I usually have to deal with much much shorter and poorly written articles and am a bit rustier at judging lead lengths for longer pieces. signed, Rosguill talk 17:08, 31 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Rosguill: thank you for yoir kind reply. At this point, may I suggest that you remove that tag, if the quality of the article and its lead meet your approval? It would be more apropriate if you were the one to do that instead of me. Thank you! (talk) user:Al83tito 15:33, 1 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

UK's Human Rights and Democracy Reports edit

I wonder if the annual reports issued by the UK government would be worth including here. Al83tito (talk) 02:25, 19 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
