List of Ayatollahs → List of ayatollahs – Job title should be sentence case when plural (per MOS:JOBTITLES). Woko Sapien (talk) 17:45, 16 October 2023 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). – robertsky (talk) 16:30, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
- Contest - Ayatollah uses an uppercase A throughout. Should probably have a broader discussion. Clyde [trout needed] 2:44 am, Yesterday (UTC+8)·📃🔥🔥🔥✒️·
- By my count, the lowercase "ayatollah" is used at least nine times in that article. But I'm happy to have this discussion in a formal move request if this proves controversial. Woko Sapien (talk) 3:02 am, Yesterday (UTC+8)

- Support. Even if "Ayatollah" is capped, the plural form of it should not be (see MOS:JOBTITLES). That's been confirmed in various RMs recently, such as the very recent Talk:List of Lord Lieutenants of Anglesey#Requested move 27 September 2023. — BarrelProof (talk) 14:46, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
- Support. Plural. —Eyer (he/him) If you reply, add

to your message. 15:14, 18 October 2023 (UTC) - Support – But also note that the singular should be lowercase when it's not part of a name. See book stats. Dicklyon (talk) 16:54, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
- Support: Wikipedia style is List of ayatollahs. Ayatollah should also use lower case except for the usual exceptions (compare Pope). SchreiberBike | ⌨ 22:19, 18 October 2023 (UTC)

What about Grand Ayatollahs and List of Grand Ayatollahs and List of Hujjatul Islams? Downcase there, too? Any objections that would require another RM discussion? Dicklyon (talk) 21:40, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
- Based on Hujjat al-Islam, it looks like that phrase means "authority on Islam" or "proof of Islam", so Islam should be kept capitalized. I concur on the others. SchreiberBike | ⌨ 22:12, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, I agree. I thought I had seen it as "islams" in a book (the only book where I saw the phrase in a search snippet), but looking again I see that the distinction between uppercase and lowercase i is easily to miss in the font I'm using, and I just read it wrong. Dicklyon (talk) 04:43, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
- I went ahead and moved those and a few others similar, as that's really the only way to judge whether anyone is likely to object. Dicklyon (talk) 05:12, 25 October 2023 (UTC)
