Colorado

This has to be an error. There is no way Colorado has lower vehicle ownership per capita than DC. Other sources (FHWA) have shown that Colorado didn't have adequate data. I'm not surprised DC is higher than Colorado. But I'm surprised it is the only state which is below DC. According to List of U.S. states by income, DC is well above any state in average income. Definition

What does “light vehicles refer to”? Does it include private automobiles, bicycles, and motorcycles? How about vans or pickup trucks?--Solomonfromfinland (talk) 03:46, 28 December 2013 (UTC)

rank

why does he show the wrong ranks (10,12,11 for example) if you want to see it by rank?? I know the states got the same number of vehicles, but the numbers should still work or? Greetings Kilon22 (talk) 12:08, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

Ranking curiosity

Does anyone know the reason why the rankings seem to go in reverse order? Usually when we rank something like this, we assign the lowest number to the item with the highest value, with the exception of timed sports competitions, like races. So the state with the highest per-capita vehicle ownership should be the one ranked #1, and the state with the second-highest per capita vehicle ownership should be the one ranked #2, and so on and so forth. And for the record, this is exactly what we do at List of countries by vehicles per capita. (I'm somewhat inactive so a ping would be helpful if you reply.) Vehicles per adult would be better measure

Some states are low because they have more children per adult (big families) like Utah. Children don't own cars. Ttulinsky (talk) 22:38, 5 May 2021 (UTC)
