Number of episodes in season 6 edit

The site that is used as a source (http://www.thefutoncritic.com/showatch/curse-of-oak-island/listings/) for the number of episodes in season is not an official site for information on the show, and doesn't list it's source for that information. No other season has had close to 30 episodes, and nothing has ever been published stating that there will be 30 episodes. It has been stated that there will be 30 HOURS of programming this season, not 30 EPISODES.

Why doesn't the episode guide say what happens on the episodes? edit

When I looked at this article, I foolishly thought that it would say what happened in the episodes. Instead, it is just a series of teasers, designed to conceal rather than inform. eg

Episode 78 - 'a shocking development' - what shocking development? Episode 79 - ' the team conducts a test that could lead them straight to the Money Pit' What test? What was the result? Episode 80 - 'Alex and Jack investigate underwater targets that may lead to a second flood tunnel system.' What targets? What was the outcome? Episode 81 - 'their new approach to locate the Money Pit yields evidence in gigantic proportions.' What approach? What evidence?

And so on ad infinitum. Whoever writes this stuff, please note you should not be trying to induce people to watch, you should say what they did and what the outcome was (if anything).

@Pricejb: I'm sorry I didn't come to this article earlier but you are absolutely correct. Unfortunately, when I did find the article most of the episode summaries were either copyright violations or contained multiple errors. I've now watched the series again and have rewritten the summaries for every episode as I watched them. There is still some minor cleanup to be done but every summary is now actually a summary of what happened in the episode. --AussieLegend () 16:49, 25 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Since you intervention the episode guide has reverted to nonsense. According to the summaries, the mystery has been solved about a dozen times. In reality, they are still nowhere at all.--John Price (talk) 14:56, 16 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Confused about the numbering and naming edit

Just looking at season 7, I was confused by the numbering and naming. They don't seem to actually reflect the information on the history channel pages. Is there a source for these episodes?

This list is about the main series, not the after-show, which is what you've linked to. Try this link. That said, when I discovered this article it contained numerous copyvios and episodes that didn't appear in the list so I looked at the episode listings on The Futon Critic, which is usually pretty accurate. Strangely though, it lists some special episodes that aren't on the official lists as well as some of the drilling down episodes. For the most part I excluded drilling down episodes, except for "Drilling Down. A Look Ahead." which includes a lot of information that wasn't in the normal episodes and "Drilling Down – The Truth Behind The Curse". Both of these aired in lieu of normal episodes. I also left or added special episodes that were aired, usually instead of normal weekly episodes. These are also listed at The Futon Critic. I've considered moving them into a separate table but I'm still working on other things that need fixing, like including a cast list in the main series article. --AussieLegend () 15:37, 18 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Page now far too long edit

This really now needs either a simple index at top to each series or maybe split up. It takes ages to manually scroll down to latest series, also recent episode descriptions are now very brief, but much of each episode is admittedly often highly repetitive of previous content. 124.171.215.141 (talk) 09:22, 2 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
