List of Massachusetts State Parks edit

Obviously this list needs population, however nearly none of the State Park articles are more than stubs. By creating this list 1st, even in its empty state, it gives us a check list to work on the articles. EraserGirl (talk) 17:00, 16 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

infobox edit

I am using the {{Geobox Protected Area}} template in the State Park articles for consistency. Unfortunately none of the articles have enough data to fill the template. Further research would be helpful - a proper Mass State Park Project under the Massachusetts project would be called for. EraserGirl (talk) 17:00, 16 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Stubs edit

I am kinda using Ames Nowell State Park as my standardized stub. not that it has a lot of data, but it has all the parts in the right places. EraserGirl (talk) 18:06, 16 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Number of properties edit

I am curious as to where the number 143 came from. I think it only counts the parks/forests that DCR lists in their "Find a Park" section. I have found other forests/parks listed in other places on their website. I noticed someone added City Square State Park, bringing the list to 144. Perhaps the number should be eliminated? I agree that it would be a good idea to eliminate the number and let the list stabilize itself. I have seen references to 450 units. Some are satellites to other facilities and don't get credited as their own. Others, like City Square are pocket parks, but have their own identity. Also, the number of state parks is far greater when you consider all the state-managed parks in the ex-MDC (now ex-Urban Parks) which are all part of one State Park agency. GriffinWrigglesworth (talk) 14:43, 11 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

List of Massachusetts State ParksList of Massachusetts state parks — All of the other lists of state parks by state have "state parks" lowercase in their titles. There is no reason for this list's title to differ from the others. Neelix (talk) 01:45, 19 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
