Season divides and release dates edit

What's the deal with the separation between seasons here? Assuming the release dates are accurate, episodes 14 and 15 of season 1 should be episodes 1 and 2 of season 2, episodes 12, 13, and 14 of season 2 should be episodes 1, 2, and 3 of season 3, episodes 11, 12, and 13 of season 3 should be episodes 1, 2, and 3 of season 4, and episode 1 of season 5 should be episode 14 of season 4. But this brings us to a question: where do these release dates even come from?

IMDb shows these release dates, which are often close to the ones here but not quite the same. Prime Video lists similar but slightly off release dates and Paramount+ is definitely way off with their release dates. What's more, Prime Video and Paramount+ both show the divides betweens seasons the way I explained above, except the keep the first episode of season 5 where it is. The only sources that show the divides as they are here are IMDb and the Little Bear Official YouTube channel as seen in these playlists. The divisions between seasons everywhere accept here and the Little Bear Official YouTube channel also match with the changes in the end credits.

This leaves the only question being where did the information on this page really come from and if there is a reliable way to cite the information. I think we should make the divides between seasons work the way they do on Amazon Prime and Paramount+, but I'm not sure what we should do about the release dates. — Mr. Starfleet Command (talkcontributions) 19:22, 3 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

I have done considerable research since I made this post. I still haven't figured everything out yet, but I have definitely figured out the divides between seasons. Based on an article by Canada NewsWire entitled "NELVANA TO PRODUCE LITTLE BEAR ANIMATED SERIES" that was published on February 21, 1995, the first season consisted of thirteen episodes. Furthermore, based on another article by Canada NewsWire, entitled "Attention Entertainment/Business Editors: NELVANA LIMITED ANNOUNCES RENEWAL OF LITTLE BEAR" and published March 5, 1996, the second season also consists of thirteen episodes. The same is true for the third, fourth, and fifth seasons ("Attention News/Entertainment Editors: NELVANA ANNOUNCES THIRD SEASON OF LITTLE BEAR", June 20, 1996; "NELVANA LIMITED ANNOUNCES INITIATIVES TO BUILD SHAREHOLDER VALUE", June 17, 1997; and "Attention Business/Entertainment Editors/See CP Wire Photo: Nelvana announces production of "Maggie and the Ferocious Beast" for Nick Jr. and Teletoon", November 10, 1999). It is for this reason that I have moved the episodes to match these divides. Please explain below if you disagree with this decision.
