Fair use rationale for Image:Consortium luct.jpg edit

Image:Consortium luct.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 21:46, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Copyright violations edit

I have had to revert edits by the user Emike81 two times because the user copies and pastes information from the university's website. I don't think this calls for a page protection, but I do think that any users watching this article need to be on the lookout for anyone, especially Emike 81, adding copyrighted material. This user has also uploaded copyrighted pictures that I need to go delete now. ethansmith | talk to me. 01:03, 28 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

NPOV & Wikify edit

Main wikify issue - External links (I assume entered under the auspice of a ref) in the body text
Secondary wikify issue - Use of unsuitable language

NPOV - Dubious remarks throughout the article

I'm going to make a start on it now, but it is a substantial article, and the task may require substantial effort, feel free to help Darigan (talk) 09:47, 13 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Links that had been dropped in ref section edit

Leaving them here for now, should not have been dropped in the ref-list section, but some of them may be useful while using some fixes on the article:

Update on progress edit

I've cut a lot of content that was POV, I've turned the relevant in-test external links into proper references, and removed those that were not suitable. I have also attempted to wikify the language.
Still to do:

  • The language is still far from perfect, needs working and re-wording in many areas
  • The vast majority of references point to the Limkokwing University website, or a related organisation. It would be nice to get more third party sources in as references
  • Many of the sections may need to be either combined, or cut entirely. There appears to be (in places) undue weight given to a particular topic/service/assertion etc.
  • The article had both positive and negative POV - Although it has been quiet here on the editing front recently, there is a risk of overt positive or negative POV making it back into the article.

As always, feel free to jump in and help.

If anybody feels that my edits have been unfair, please notify me/discuss it on this talk page before engaging in a mass revert. Cheers Darigan (talk) 16:56, 13 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

You've made great improvements, but as I think you know the article still needs work. Itsmejudith (talk) 17:24, 13 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Cheers for the feedback Itsmejudith, I certainly agree that there is still quite a bit to do. Thanks for casting an eye over the revisions ;) Darigan (talk) 09:51, 14 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Semi-protected edit request on 16 November 2020 edit

Good day,

I request that the section "Controversy" be completely removed once and for all, on the Limkokwing University page on Wikipedia.

I believe that the Wikipedia function is to state facts about a given topic and this is why people, including myself, use Wikipedia pages to learn information about different things. However, adding such section on a Wikipedia page about a university based in Malaysia is causing a negative impact on the organization.

I am aware that the university has been receiving cyber attacks, but none of those negative accusations is proven until this very moment, therefore, no one has the right to include this "Controversy" section until those claims are based on facts, not just random tweets and blogs.

And I think any other Wikipedia user would agree with me that adding such content here is only driven by the immature aim to harm this educational organization where there are so many students pursuing their education in.

Thank you for understanding and I hope to prevent any future negative additions like that on this page and any other page on Wikipedia. 05:47, 16 November 2020 (UTC)2001:D08:D7:215:E46E:2E1E:6EB7:B7D4 (talk)

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit semi-protected}} template. Sections, including controversy sections, are included if they fit the Core Content Policies. You have not made any suggestion that the section in question violated those poilicies, instead calling it "immature", which is a value judgment. Inconsistencies in Controversy Section edit

Hello Wikipedians, We have noticed inconsistencies on unverified statements about Sierra Leone. Earlier this year, an official statement was released by the Minister of Information of Sierra Leone, Mohammad Rahman Swarray, to address the government's position on Limkokwing University. [1] The reference/citation provided does not backup the statement about the Minister of Information of Sierra Leone, Mohammad Rahman Swarray, in addressing the government's position on Limkokwing University. We would like to get a verification and explanation as to why this was put up because as per content policies all information provided should be verifiable, accurate, and cited with credible sources.
