Toshokan Sensō or Library War edit

Should we move the article to Library War? If not, why not? - Plau (talk) 12:44, 3 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I had considered it per a similar move of Spice and Wolf from Ōkami to Kōshinryō when the anime provided the segway for an official English title, but I was waiting to see if anyone else would bring it up, and also if I could wait and see if either Toshokan Sensō or Library War is used more by the community in identification of this series. In the case of Spice and Wolf, I have seen very few (to no one) refer to it as Ōkami to Kōshinryō, so it was an easy move.-- 20:09, 3 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well, It depends how you look at it, both sides are pretty equal, Anime News Network and Crunchyroll uses Library War, while certain fansub groups use Toshokan Sensō, so I really don't know, that's why I brought it up in the first place. - Plau (talk) 09:11, 5 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
The Google hits for the two are also pretty close, though "Library War" has more. Then again, Google hits don't really tell us much, and probably shouldn't be taken into account. The thing is, the anime plays on this in an earlier episode when Shibasaki looks at a book list and Library War is right at the top. I think if they had a choice to use either the original title, or the English translation, maybe that's an indication that we should too. Also, per WP:MOS-AM#Article names and disambiguation: Use official English titles for article names, and place the transliteration of the Japanese on the first line of the article, unless the native form is more commonly recognized by readers than the English form. If we can't determine which is more commonly recognized, I don't think it should change. Further, ANN uses "Library War" only for the anime; the two manga adaptations retain the title "Toshokan Sensō"; way to be two faced. :P-- 09:24, 5 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Then let's just leave it, since Library War Redirects here anyways. - Plau (talk) 02:23, 9 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
