I'm no expert in law, but this article barely scratches the surface of it's purported topic. To begin with, I'm surprised that there is no reference to the Napoleonic code, which post-dates most of the events mentioned in this article. Then there is the question of why was the Napoleonic code discarded for the legal system that this article holds was exemplified in Les Miserables. (Was this the result of the conservative back-lash against the ideals of the French Revolution?) Then there is the consideration of how & when was this legal system replaced with the legal system currently in force. Lastly there is the issue that many of the assertions in this article lack a convincing source: the link to Frenchgeeks is dead, & from its domain name I suspect it was nothing more than a discussion forum. I'd mark this article as needing work if I could remember the proper template to tack at its topic, but maybe someone with more knowledge of this topic can simply rewrite it. -- llywrch (talk) 23:19, 6 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
