Following the 1920 election, the Conservatives remained the official opposition despite having less seats than the Farmers who were mostly independent. The Conservative Leader did not win his seat so I don't know who served as Leader of the Opposition. But reference to the Conservatives being the official opposition is made in a ruling by Nova Scotia Speaker Murray Scott as a precedent in a ruling on the status of the official opposition.
