Mahohla Dargis edit

Why is her opinion being given so much weight? I don't deny that she's an "important" film critic, but her opinion basically gets an entire paragraph.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.225.147.138 (talkcontribs) 06:47, October 20, 2007

When I added quotes by various critics, I thought I was giving her the same weight as the others. It looks like the section has been edited now, but I felt that full quotes would be best because I didn't quite know how to paraphrase what she said. --Pixelface (talk) 20:51, 31 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

synopsis edit

Where is the synopsis? Topio

I'm working on it right now, but it might take a couple days to get it completed. Further, I don't intend to do anything beyond putting down the text, so someone else will need to add any links or whatever. 136.168.200.1 (talk) 21:04, 16 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I finished the plot. Feel free to review it for any mistakes, as I only saw the movie once and some details are fading. 75.80.82.112 (talk) 17:25, 18 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I think the synopsis is great. I changed the bit about Lars living in a room "next to the garage" to "in a converted garage". Because I watched carefuly and his bedroom is in the first bay of the garage to the left of the big window.

What is missing is What is wrong with Lars? and Why does he get better? His mother died when he was born, his father was distant, and his older brother left home as soon as possible. Lars was afraid of intimacy because everyone important to him abandoned him. Bianca's social life and the doctor's therapy helped him realize that he could trust people to be there for him. I just don't know how to work that into the synopsis. Sheherazahde (talk) 17:00, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Christian article no longer works, but here is an alternative address:

Biased? edit

There seems to be absolutely no negative comments about the movie, no criticisms, and certainly nothing in the Reception section. I find it hard to believe that any movie is made without some form of feedback like that. The lack of any harsh comments or reviews being referenced in the article makes it feel rather biased.--68.6.182.39 (talk) 04:08, 4 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

RT 81%, MC 70% that is fairly positive, so while there were some negative reviews anyone that wanted to mention them would need to be careful not to give them undue emphasis. Sure there were some negative reviews too, like the one from the Chicago Tribune but even that still strongly praised the cast.[1] -- 109.78.193.127 (talk) 18:04, 29 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
