I've removed:

"In 1765 Kendall was appointed as a member of the Board of Longitude.<ref name="Britten1902">{{cite book|title=Old Clocks and Watches and their Makers|author=F.J. Britten|publisher=Batsford|edition=2nd|year=1902}}</ref>"

as it doesn't seem to be true (he was an expert witness, not a board member), and I can't spot where in the reference this is said. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 13:08, 15 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
