Lower and Upper?
editI added a ref to this - it had been waiting 13 years! I saw why it hadn't easily been done before - it seems the townlands are actually two townlands, Lagganstown Lower and Lagganstown Upper? - Hi Boleyn. Further (belated) input. I came across this article in a review of Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in County Tipperary. It seems to me that this article seems to be dealing with both townlands (upper and lower) together. In all honesty, whether combined or otherwise, I'm not sure how WP:NN is met. In terms of the:
- title (an area called "Lagganstown") I'm not sure there is sufficient WP:SIGCOV to support an article on the "combined" townlands. (That we are relying on a viamichelin.co.uk map, as the only source that confirms that such a [combined] subject exists is an indicator that GNG/SIGCOV is not met. To the extent that, if we can barely find sources to confirm that the subject exists [at that title], I'm not sure how we stretch that into notability).
- content (the townlands of Lagganstown Upper and Lagganstown Lower), I'm not sure how WP:GEOLAND can be met. While there are sources to confirm that both townlands exist, I can't find sufficient sources to expand the content beyond the permastub it has been for a long time. I can find enough sources to describe Lagganstown Upper as a "townland of 0.5 sq miles/12 houses/37 people as of the 2011 census". And Lagganstown Lower as a "townland of 0.9 sq miles/17 houses/55 people". But, in all honesty, that is pretty much it. Apart from the remains of a possible bawn in Lagganstown Upper, there are no notable archaeological sites (and no protected structures) in either townland. And a search of news and other sites returns no coverage. Even Lewis's Topographical Dictionary of Ireland (a useful if dated source for expanding stubs on small areas) offers nothing. All I can find are directory entries (in other 19th century works) which list inhabitants. But that's about it.
- In short, I'm inclined to propose that this be deleted. As, there is no such place as Lagganstown. Not a legally recognised one at any rate. And, if there is, there are no sources to meet SIGCOV to the extent that we can expand this stub. And, of the two constituent townlands, neither meets WP:GEOLAND to the extent that an article on either could reasonably be expanded.
