The following inaccurate and scanty information was at Rose Sunday, which now redirects here. There's no information below not in this article. (Wetman 08:51, 26 March 2006 (UTC)):Reply

"Rose Sunday is a name for the fourth Sunday of Lent, also known as Mothering Sunday, Mid-Lent Sunday, and Laetare Sunday. On this Sunday priests are traditionally allowed to wear rose-coloured vestments instead of the purple ones that are usual during Lent. Within Protestantism, the celebration of this day as "Rose Sunday" (rather than "Mothering Sunday") is likely only in the High Church tradition."

Refreshment Sunday edit

I've heard that Refreshement Sunday has also been used as a name for this day, probably an Anglican thing, and related to the idea of "reprieve" from whatever you've given up for Lent (although my mother always claimed that since no Sunday is strictly part of the forty days of Lent, this applied on all Sundays in Lent). Not sure whre to go for references though, so I haven't added it to the article proper. David Underdown 13:50, 27 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Do we really need 81 years' worth of dates predicted in this article? 72.201.104.140 (talk) 04:16, 13 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
