- Nevertheless, "Death to the Jews" is one common standard translation, both of the place-name and of the phrase in other contexts; for example, several works such as Roots of Hate: Anti-Semitism in Europe Before the Holocaust (ISBN 0521774780, 2003), page 121 give "'Mort aux Juifs' (Death to the Jews)" as a French anti-semitic slogan. In fact, a Google Books search for "Mort aux Juifs" "death to the Jews" turns up 68 books which give that translation of the words, while a search for "Mort aux Juifs" "death of the Jews" turns up no books which give that translation. -sche (talk) 20:52, 25 October 2015 (UTC)

- I'm sorry, I don't want to edit war but I have reverted this again because it is simply not acceptable to state as fact that the name translates as "death to the Jews" as it is plain inaccurate. Most English-language articles on the matter have simply regurgitated the claims of the SW Center. Sources in French and looking into it more carefully are more relevant here. Origin of the name edit
The whole description of the origin of the name is to my opinion unilateral. In the French and German articles there are much more and deeper explanations about the history of the name of this village. The article must be revised and tested for neutrality. Cruks (talk) 20:42, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
