AliCharlie898, hello! That size [1] is not "suitable" here, see policy at Wikipedia:Image_use_policy#Infobox_and_lead_images. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 17:11, 10 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

And another thing. None of the things you uploaded on Commons here [2] is your "own work", they are just images you found on the internet. This is not ok, WP takes copyright very seriously. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 17:35, 10 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Why not? You could see the logo of Kara Debra, Turkish series, so much big logo, and I am improving the page and you tell me that ate you not like the giant logo, instead of the small one which can be only visible with microscope. Please listen to this recommendation. AliCharlie898 (talk) 17:46, 10 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Because you have chosen to edit the English Wikipedia, and here you have to follow the policies and guidelines. If you edit your own blog or something like that I don't care. Copyright is about law, and WP needs to follow applicable law. The size thing is policy, which can be changed if there's good reason and agreement, but I see no such reason here. If you want to see a bigger logo you can click it. More at WP:LOGO, if you are editing/uploading them you should read it. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 17:54, 10 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
Come to think of it, WP:FAIRUSE may be more on point for the title-card image, but the end-result is pretty much the same. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 19:31, 10 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

172.58.19.140 edit

This person keeps on adding false information about Orhan Bey, Layla Sultan and the Ayyubids coming to season 2. The writer doesn't ever use correct spelling or punctuation. His accuracy is also never precise, he says that Orhan Bey is the son of Osman and Bala. On top of this, he removes important and correct information and replaces it with his falsehood. He also made a fake season 2 plot. I am tired of constantly removing all this vandalism. The administrators need to ban this IP address. You can check the version history for proof. I am a new user, if there is a way a votekick option of some sort then please inform me about it. Limorina (talk) 19:23, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Lindi1998, Cast and Characters and other yesterday's vandalism edit

I still can't remove where it says 'Rumoured to come in season 2, Osmans second wife' on 'Cast and Characters', do you have the same problem? Also, what happened yesterday? Look at the page history. I was going to add citations today but I spent all my time removing false information and vandalism, mostly done by Lindi1998 and I also spent my time trying to remove that annoying, false and glitched piece of information that doesn't even look good on the top of 'Cast and Characters'. Also, on the 'edit history' page, it said that a vandal added a piece of information about Osman's second wife being someone called 'Adela Hatun', it had the same description as that glitched piece of information, I am suspecting '73.254.236.165' of doing this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Limorina (talkcontribs) 09:36, 27 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Lindi1998 edit

Constantly adding false/unconfirmed information from 'Ilyas Alp' to now 'Gunkut Gazi'. Nothing is true, the person doesn't ever give citations either. And the worst thing about it is that the person deletes the true information and replaces it with the false information. All these edits are new too, the person never re-adds the things I delete which is only more proof that this is vandalism. Limorina (talk) 14:55, 29 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Leadimage edit

Anyone mind if we skip the logo and just put the s1 poster there instead? Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 13:26, 27 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Names of characters edit

I just tweaked some of these. The refs where to the tv-company that owns them, so IMO going with the names/spellings they give is reasonable. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 18:46, 27 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

And I still think my version [3] is better than the current parenthesis. These are characters in a story, historical names are not interesting in this section, they are found with wikilinks. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 10:37, 28 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Bani or Ghazi edit

Hi Limorina, discuss the issue here. The series "Diriliş Ertugrul' is known as "Ertugrul Ghazi" in Urdu. Therefore, it is contains the word 'Ghazi'. The series"Kurulus Osman" is known as "Osman Bani" in Urdu. Therefore, it should contain the word 'Bani' instead of 'Ghazi'. Tahaaleem knows Turkish. We may consent him. Thank you. Empire AS Talk! 12:04, 30 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

In Urdu, Dirilis: Ertugrul is referred to as Ertugrul Ghazi In Urdu, Kurulus: Osman is referred to as Osman Ghazi (even see urwiki) In English, Dirilis: Ertugrul is referred to as Resurrection: Ertugrul In English, Kurulus: Osman is referred to as Establishment: Osman In English, it uses the translation of the two series' names, however, in Urdu, it uses the name of the main character in the series.--Limorina (talk) 12:20, 30 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

On Urdu Wikipedia, it's Bani, not Ghazi. See [4]. Empire AS Talk! 12:18, 30 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

So, you want to ask what should be Ghazi or Bani, if you are referring to the Urdu version, it's called Osman Bani on the title, but in bold heading it's called Osman Ghazi. Founder in Turkish is called 'Kurucu’. See https://ur.wikipedia.org/wiki/عثمان_بانی_(سیریل) So I really don't to use which, but I guess the editors make us confused. Cheers. Tahaaleem (talk) 12:20, 30 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

I think we should use the same version that we use on the Dirilis: Ertugrul article because then it will look better if the texts match.--Limorina (talk) 12:28, 30 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Tahaaleem and Limorina:, I agree with Bani. If there was Ghazi on both the articles then they should have the same name of either 'Dirilis' or 'Kurulus'. But as they differ, therefore, Ghazi shouldn't be used on both articles. Thank you. Empire AS Talk! 13:12, 30 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

If we want to match the both texts then, both articles should contain the same prefix in their name. But they differ, so it should too. Empire AS Talk! 12:32, 30 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Yes, Bani is more authentic, as Kurucu means founder which means Bani in Urdu. So Bani is more accurate to use, Cheers. Tahaaleem (talk) 13:16, 30 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Tahaaleem and Empire AS:: Why don't we use both? The show is known as both Osman Ghazi and Osman Bani?

Limorina, Well I believe that's precise, you seem to be experienced in our (Urdu) language. Thank you. Tahaaleem (talk) 14:15, 30 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

That sounds good to me. I agree with using both. Empire AS Talk! 14:33, 30 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Running time in infobox edit

Consider making a compromise like on DE, "105–165 minutes (Netflix 42–44 minutes)", with whatever is correct here. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 09:58, 7 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Gråbergs Gråa Sång: I doubt that the show is on Netflix currently...Limorina (talk) 18:08, 9 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Ok, is someone sending it in shorter episodes? That was the impression I got. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 18:33, 9 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
The problem is that there are no shorter versions of the episodes for now. Well there aren't any that I know of... Limorina (talk) 15:26, 10 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
Good enough. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 17:53, 10 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Citations edit

So, I want to use this source in the Reception section; [5], however, when I try, it doesn't work. This is what happens; [6] (I added the source but it didn't work so I removed it). I had a similar problem a long time before ([7]) and it's been happening ever since this citation was added; [8]. Limorina (talk) 15:09, 29 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Ok, nevermind, all I had to do was remove the citation from the template. Limorina (talk) 17:23, 29 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Prequel or predecessor edit

Hi, this article uses the word 'predecessor' in the plot section. But I think that 'prequel' should be used instead. Prequel is the antonym of sequel as stated here. Diriliş: Ertuğrul uses sequel, the antonym of prequel. Moreover, about the word prequel, the Wikipedia says:

A prequel is a literary, dramatic or cinematic work whose story precedes that of a previous work, by focusing on events that occur before the original narrative. A prequel is a work that forms part of a backstory to the preceding work.

And the Wikitionary says:

(narratology) In a series of works, an installment that is set chronologically before its predecessor, especially the original narrative or (perhaps improper usage) any narrative work with at least one sequel.

Therefore, I agree to use prequel but I think that Gråbergs Gråa Sång wouldn't agree. Thank you. Empire AS Talk!

I don't. What previous work does DE preceed? DE has no previous work, KO was made after. Wiktionary also says "Most often used, not as a direct antonym of sequel, to refer to earlier works in a series, but to refer to works that are chronologically before but are created and released after; an archetypal example is the Star Wars prequel trilogy.". See also [9][10]. If you want, we can take this to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Television or some other place. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 12:06, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
It says A film, book, or play that develops the story of an earlier film, etc. by telling you what happened before the events in the first film, etc. And the same is presented in DE. That story precedes its story and for such work, it says to use prequel. Whereas predecessor is a person who did a job before somebody else or a thing, such as a machine, that has been followed or replaced by something else, and we are talking about series not person. Empire AS Talk! 12:20, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
I agree to use prequel and if you disagree with it then we may take this to where you want. Thank you. Empire AS Talk! 12:23, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
"A film, book, or play that develops the story of an earlier film, etc. by telling you what happened before the events in the first film, etc.", My emphasis. There is no earlier film/first film for DE. For an example, see Template:Star Wars. I'll ask for more input per WP:APPNOTE. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 12:27, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Done [11] Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 12:31, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
And one more dictionary: [12] Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 12:43, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Empire AS: You are misunderstanding the definiton stated in your own quotes. A prequel is both made after another work and takes place before the other work. That is not the case here. Diriliş: Ertuğrul was made first so it cannot be a prequel no matter when it takes place. Diriliş: Ertuğrul would only be a prequel if it was made after Kuruluş: Osman. PrimeHunter (talk) 12:48, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
PrimeHunter, so how can be Kuruluş: Osman the sequel of Diriliş: Ertuğrul. Kuruluş was made after (not before) Diriliş and its story also follows Diriliş. So, how can it be sequel? Empire AS Talk! 12:58, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
...because it's the the next installment (as of a speech or story)? Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 13:05, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Btw, I hereby decree that the name for this collected body of works shall be Gaziverse! Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 13:20, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
A sequel is made after another work so Kuruluş: Osman is a sequel. It also takes place after the other work so it's a normal sequel. If work B is a sequel to work A then it does not imply that A is a prequel to B. A is a predecessor to B. PrimeHunter (talk) 13:22, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Now I understand. I was thinking that if Kuruluş is sequel to Diriliş then Diriliş should be the prequel to Kuruluş. So, if A is a prequel to B then it implies that B is a sequel to A. Thank you. Empire AS Talk! 14:22, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Another fun example: The Hobbit is not a prequel to The Lord of the Rings, but The Hobbit is a prequel to The Lord of the Rings. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 14:41, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
If A is a prequel to B then it does not imply that B is a sequel to A. It only implies that B takes place after A. PrimeHunter (talk) 15:47, 22 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Razinatorr edit

@Razinatorr: Please open a WP:RFC or at least start a discussion here about why you are blanking the page, I don't think anyone understands why you are doing it. (And be more detailed than you where in your edit summaries) when/if you do open a discussion here Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 18:16, 20 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

They were removing a well-sourced section rather than blanking the page, still wrong when undiscussed though. IronManCap (talk) 18:19, 20 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I don't get it either. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 18:44, 20 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

I was just saying that same information on 3 Wikipedia articles are not required at all. Razinatorr (talk) 09:30, 21 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, with no justification (this is literally an article about Kuruluş: Osman, of course characters will be covered on it, that's how it is for every WP article) and just casually removing sources. IronManCap (talk) 18:08, 21 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
