Regarding the statement on slavery.

edit

The city's Town Statute dating back to 1214 prohibited slavery, making Korčula the first place in the world to outlaw the practice.

A citation is needed for the last claim that Korčula is the first place in the world to outlaw slavery, and I think it needs to be clarified too.

According to this page, Korčula isn't the first place to prohibit slavery, but it still might have been the first town to do so. I guess it should also be clarified that we're talking about the practice of slavery itself, not just the slave trade, although that may have already been implied.
