Death in Bus Attack At African Cup of Nations

edit

It was reported by Togolese teammate Alaixis Romao that Obilale was injured in a bus attack by rebels in Angola as the team was traveling in preparations for the 2010 African Cup of Nations.[1]

It has been reported by ESPNSoccernet that Obilale has died from his wounds in the attack. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=722713&sec=global&cc=5901

The news is unconfirmed, and clashes with Kossi Agassa's declarations at France Info, where he stated no players were killed in the attack (I have the breaking news source in Italian here: [1]). Without confirmations (which I cannot find), nobody should ever think of declaring the man dead. --Angelo (talk) 15:38, 9 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
According to this BBC News article, Obilalé was flown to South Africa to undergo a surgery operation, after being bounded in the stomach. --Angelo (talk) 15:41, 9 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Obilalé's club Pontivy has just released a club announcement, based on AFP reports, denying reports regarding the player's death (the link, in French). So please do not report Obilalé's death unless you can provide multiple reliable sources for it. Thank you. --Angelo (talk) 15:56, 9 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

He's dead, dude

I saw him, he's dead. Not sure why Wikipedia editors think that saying a guy isn't dead will bring him back to life. 173.100.75.202 (talk) 19:07, 9 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

One of the players confirmed he was dead, not sure why that isn't being considered a valid source. 68.45.109.136 (talk) 22:15, 9 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
