Copyright edit

The Kielanowski Institute of Animal Physiology and Nutrition, Polish Academy of Sciences (and its Polish version) Wikipedia article was published basing on the Institute official web page www.ifzz.pl. The user Aggattaa got the permission from the Institute Director to use materials from the www.ifzz.pl to create Wikipedia article (permission was sent to Wikipedia office). --Aggattaa (talk) 08:42, 19 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Greetings, Aggattaa. Just so you know, getting permission from the copyright holder for use on Wikipedia is not sufficient to allow copyrighted material on Wikipedia. It must be released under an open license so anyone on the internet can use it. The procedure is listed at WP:DONATETEXT. If the permission sent is not something like the form found at WP:CONSENT, it will not be sufficient. Thanks, and happy editing! —  crh 23  (Talk) 08:48, 19 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
The institute's own description of itself is likely not suitable for an encyclopedia article in any case. The institute and its work should be described in neutral language, based largely on what independent sources say about it. Cordless Larry (talk) 08:55, 19 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
Aggattaa, the text has been removed for now (please see below). If permission was sent to OTRS, the sender should have received an automated reply with a long number beginning "2017". If you post that number here I will look into the permission and log it here if it is acceptable. But please be aware that, as Cordless Larry says above, the institute's self-description is anyway not likely to be suitable for an encyclopaedia, which should be based on what is written in independent reliable sources. That brings to the next problem: where are those sources? I can't find a single one (but then I don't read Polish). If suitable sources aren't found, this page should probably be merged or redirected. Oh, Aggattaa, do you have some connection to the institute?
