Pronounciation

edit

I've never played the Nintendo 64 version of Trilogy, so bear with me. When referencing her in speech, some people have called her "Kay-meleon" in order to differenate her from her male counterpart. Is her name actually pronounced that way in the game, or is it pronounced the same as Chameleon's? The S 18:39, 31 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Her name is pronounced the same as Chameleon's. NinjaFromHell

MKA ending?

edit

Just guessing but who else thinks she is the female reptial finds in his ending? Maybe her ending will shed some more light on this...except she's alive.

And I hope they give her a reptilian look for MKA...at least for an alt costume. I wanna see what she looks liek in her reptilian form. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by VRaptorX (talkcontribs) 17:35, 5 April 2007 (UTC).Reply

John Vogel mentioned at Fight Night 2006 that the female Saurian in Reptile's ending is most likely not Khameleon. MarphyBlack 21:08, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

MK:A appearance

edit

For all those interested, I've finally found a source regarding Khameleon and her appearance in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. The conversation is at Talk:Mortal Kombat: Armageddon#The Khameleon‎ Konundrum. EVula 03:39, 12 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Just some speculation on if she's in MKA or not.

edit

Not that it matters, but I have two peices of information that this whole "Khameleon may not be in MKA" thing, may be a hoax. Or at least kept secret because she may be an SU. 1) In the German video game convention interview that was done for Mortal Kombat Universe, Shawn Himmerick had an odd smirk when asked about Khameleon. Like he was lying. [1] 2) The picture that Cinder posted on MK was not of MK's Khameleon, but of the mascot for Khameleon Software. So he may not be lying, just fooling people. ---SilentRAGE! 03:10, 27 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Here's the link to Cinder's post. ---SilentRAGE! 03:24, 27 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
Considering Khameleon's actual existence of a backstory when compared to Chameleon, who will be in MK:A, and the fans' expectance of every fighter who's thrown a punch, I would imagine that there is still a very large likelyhood of her appearing in the game somehow, whether as a super secret unlockable or possibly as an exclusive console-specific character. In the mean time, she's probably just hanging out with Motaro's other legs. MarphyBlack 05:19, 27 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
I was thinking, the addition of Khameleon would offset the symmetry of the fighter select screen. So instead of adding another fighter they decided not to add her. That Cinder message is leading people to believe she may be on the Wii, probably replacing Chameleon. This way they can give him a story and players will still be able to find out what happened with her after Trilogy. And I know that this is just a preliminary fighter select screen and would most likely look different on the final product. -SaturnYoshi 06:25, 27 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
Or it could be just like how you select the SU's in MKDA. Hold a directional button to a character that's at the edge of the select screen and then press start. ---SilentRAGE! 23:53, 27 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, she could just be a secret character, like meat in MK4. MK is secretive and lies when it comes to secret characters sometimes.Toasty! 20:13, 4 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

They never said beforehand that a certain character wouldn't show up and then put them in, have they? I'm thinking that the name "Khameleon" may be a registered trademark now for the Khameleon Software company so now Midway can't use it anymore. This may be why Cinder posted a pic of the Software's mascot when he first mentioned that Khameleon would be missing. At any rate, it looks like I found my first candidate for the Kreate a Fighter mode. -SaturnYoshi 21:29, 4 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
That's not how copyrights work. If Khameleon software filed a copyright for the word "Khameleon", it would be just for a company name. Copyrighting the name of a fictional character is different. ---SilentRAGE! 04:15, 19 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Okay. I wish there was a way to find out more about fictional character copyrighting. I can't find anything on the subject. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 14:19, 23 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Just so you know (which I bet you already do by now), Khameleon is in Armageddon, albeit exclusive to the Wii version. Mkrox (talk) 06:35, 10 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Better sources for her not being in MKA

edit

The video source has been removed, and I'm not sure if the forum source is even allowed, seeing as how its against Wiki policy (there MAY be some leeway since it's posted by an admin on the official forum however). In any case, we need some better, more official sources 199.126.137.209 19:17, 28 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

A forum post from Cinder counts as pretty solid evidence, regardless of what Wikipedia rules on External Links say (the fact that it comes from an official source is what matters, not the exact medium). EVula 05:00, 29 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

This is a video on Youtube, that starts out with Kreate a kharacter but at the end this person unlocking Khameleon with the ? box in the krypt. The site address http://youtube.com/watch?v=lwF88x_tL9g Is there any proof to this? Does anyone out there know if this is real or not? And if so, would this be proof in itself that maybe she is in the game?

It's a fake. That picture of "Khameleon" is actually just an edited version of Kitana's Shaolin Monks render. The guy who posted the video left a comment saying he put in the code for Blaze so the screen would say that the code was accepted. MarphyBlack 16:43, 11 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
