Not sure the relevance of this part:
"A provincial by-election was held in Nova Scotia on 2 October 2007 in Cole Harbour-Eastern Passage in which one of McGowan's deputy leaders, Beverley Woodfield was the GPNS candidate. Woodfield garnered 4.68% of the vote."

Everything that happens within a political party during an election has the leaders stamp on it. Party's raise and fall on the based on who the leader is at that time. Moreover it is very important to mention any election called while a leader is in power. After all one the delete votes was based on the fact that in a previous rendition of the page that no election was mentioned. To remove the reference would be improper after that.

There's absolutely no information about McGowan in that text. Remember, the article is about him -- not the GPNS. If there are any other opinions I'm open to hearing them. I think it's better that we talk over our opinions rather than locking the page. West Eddy (talk) 16:00, 6 May 2012 (UTC)

I disagree strenuously West Eddy. The fact the the GPNS vote share doubled in the riding is a direct reflection of McGowan's leadership.
