The article should probably have a section describing the event of her suicide. The police officer's story could then be moved to that section; it belongs in a description of the event, not in the legacy section. I was going to do that, but then I saw there is no description of what happened. Since I don't know enough to write that, I left it alone. Incidentally, there is a nonsensical line in the article "In the later years of her life, Kathleen dropped the "e" off her last name, and legally changed her name to Kathy Change." If she dropped the e off her last name it would be Kathleen Chang, not Change, obviously, but if she dropped it off the first name it would be officially Kathy Change. I kind of think that it is the former, since that makes more sense, but there is no citation for this assertion either. That is why I didn't change that sentence. Name Change

As I noted above the sentence regarding her name change is self-contradicting. There's no citation I can check, either. Looking on the internet for sources was kind of difficult to do since almost all the links google finds are wikipedia and sites which copy wikipedia. I did find some suggestion that what she changed her name to was Kathy Change, which is almost what the sentence says. I even vaguely remember hearing about her and her changing her name like that. The only problem I have with boldly editing to that is I am unsure, because it could be the other way around. Lots of ethnic names get changed to something else, and a lot of people change their names back to the original. So she could have changed her name back to Chang to go to her roots or to Change because of her activism. I tend to the latter, but none of the sources I found are anything close to good. There is a kathychange.org, which talks about her activism and legacy, but not about the name change. It would tend to support the assertion that this is what her name was, but I dunno. I guess I'll have to hit the library (or someone will) to find something on it. Rifter0x0000 (talk) 12:39, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

Rifter, thanks for your interest in improving the article. The New York Times articles, mentioned in the References section, have a lot of information about her life, and verifies her name was changed to the word "Change". There's also a website about her at http://kathychange.org/Home.php There are a few more articles about her in the Philadelphia press.
