Founding Date

What is the founding date of Kappa Pi?Naraht (talk) 17:49, 4 May 2016 (UTC)

Currently the founding day is lost to us. The Guild on Ritural gives Hint to it being in the fall of 1911 so As of right now the Eta Iota Chapter observes Founder's day as the second Tue in Oct. :EJS — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ejs1989 (talk • contribs) 02:49, 7 June 2016 (UTC)

Changes to Flower, Colors and publication as

Severe current issues

I don't believe the yearbook photos can be used at all. Although you filled in that you were the source, the University of Kentucky is the copyright holder. Some states allow this, most don't. See Wikipedia:Copyrights#Governing_copyright_law and Copyright status of work by U.S. subnational governments. They *can* be referenced though.

Secondly, the providence of the bylaws needs to be established or it will be deleted from commons. See the note added at [1]. *Much* better would be to find someplace that they exist online, preferably on the Kappa Pi website. Note, the source does *not* need to be online, the bylaws can be referenced even if they aren't online.Naraht (talk) 00:11, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

I did look into the rights of the Yearbook photos and the details to them read a such:

In terms of the Constitution, I will be replacing the current document with the one published by our chapter along with our by-laws. But as of now the constitution is not place on the Kappa Pi website but I will send a email to the International president and request for use of the rights of the document created by them and its placement on the website.Ejs1989 (talk) 16:44, 9 June 2016 (UTC)

The key phrase here is 'Permission must be received for subsequent distribution in print or electronically.' And *if they are willing* getting official permission properly sent to Wikipedia is possible is possible, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials

While I used to assume that organizations would always be willing to have their bylaws/constitution online (Alpha Phi Omega, my GLO had it up on the first official website back in 2001), that was before I started improving Theta Phi Alpha's wikipedia page. The fact that I was able to track down an copy of the National bylaws posted by a chapter on archive.org (it had been removed from the web otherwise) caused isues.

Professional? Or Honor?

The article lede says that Kappa Pi is an Honor society, yet the infobox says it is a Professional fraternity. Which is correct? Jax MN (talk) 18:19, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
