Plagiarism edit

Kamala Markandaya belonged to that pioneering group of Indian women writers who made their mark not just through their subject matter, but also through their fluid, polished literary style. "Nectar in a Sieve" was her first published work, and its depiction of rural India and the suffering of farmers made it popular in the West. This was followed by other fiction that dramatized the Quit India movement in 1942, the clash between East and West and the tragedy that resulted from it, or the problems facing ordinary middle-class Indians—making a living, finding inner peace, coping with modern technology and its effects on the poor.

The entire above section seems to have been copied from a book description for a study of Markandaya's novels (http://www.buybooksindia.com/cross-cultural-interaction-in-the-novels-of-kamala-markandaya-0-204525.html). In fact, this instance of plagiarism led to further uncited references of the Wikipedia page (vide http://www.researchscholar.co.in/downloads/40-prof.-akhade-kavita-dattatraya.pdf and http://research.iisuniv.ac.in/sites/research/files/rpp/pdf_arts/Anurika%20SIngh_14691.pdf).

If in fact, this is not plagiarism, this is original research, which is equally unacceptable.

The sources need to be cited properly or the change (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Kamala_Markandaya&diff=222718291&oldid=212673549) reverted and user who committed the error taken action against per whatever guidelines may exist for such a situation.Sreesarmatvmtalkcontribs 07:47, 20 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

As a follow-up, I've added a Citation needed span so that the issue is resolved faster.Sreesarmatvmtalkcontribs 07:56, 20 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Certainly not a speedy solution, nor action to be possibly taken due to elapsed time; but I just removed the paragraph. That works as well. Fylbecatulous talk 11:37, 7 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
