Date of Birth edit

Kailash Kher is not from Kashmir. His father Mehr Singh was a Mazhabi from Jammu. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 100.12.72.218 (talk) 01:15, 13 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Ignore his origin besides he is married to a KParranhged by Ashok Pandit who has a great heart. His father Mehar Singh was a Mazhabi and a great singer on his own. Kailash is a genius and self-made. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 100.12.72.218 (talk) 20:37, 22 July 2018 (UTC) 'No mystery his father's name is Mehar Singh, nothing to do with Kashmir. Ashok Pandit has ittle education and has no concept of the caste system in India as he grew up in a remote village in Kashmir. He believes what he is told. The family name Khar is Kashmiri not Kher as Anupam Kher a Kashmiri changed it. Kailash is neither Kher nor Khar but of an extremely talented Mazhabi family.' A great artist indeed! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.107.240.106 (talk) 00:36, 7 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

The article says the year of birth as 1979 and the age as 29 while on 24 jan 2008, on the show Indian Idol, Kailash himself said that he is 33 years old (http://www.zshare.net/video/54601677406ce9f3/), which makes the year of birth as 1976. Has somebody got some correct reference for that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.16.69.132 (talk) 22:53, 24 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Indeed Kailash Kher is a gentleman also a good singer. Ashok Pandit though not too well educated a is great person. He has married his cousin to Kailash. Kaliash's father Mehar Singh was a Ravidassi a Mazhabi. Kailash is not of Kashmiri origin this has been fabricated, the same is true for Katrina Kaif who is half Jewish. No doubt Kailash is a great guy and a great singer. Kher is not originally a KLashmiri surname Khar is. Kher surname iis from outside Kashmir. 'Kashmiri Muslims and Kashmiri Pandits a common origin are easy to identify. Though a wonderful person and a great singer he is not a Kashmiri nor looks a Kashmir. He is a Mazhabi born from a family of fine people his Dad was Meher Singh. They are originally from Jammu area. Kher is not a Kashmiri name Khar is. A few people now have changed this to Kher. Kailash is originally from Jammu. His wife is a Kashmiri Pandit as the uneducated Ashok Pandit did not research the family of Kailash. Yet all people love Kailash yet we must never hide the truth. Place of Birth? edit

Is Kailash Kher of Kashmiri origin? "Kher" surname is usually a kashmiri surname. Was he born there or are his parents from there? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.98.226.14 (talk) 21:14, 16 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Citations needed edit

Many lines in the page require citation. For example, "His other influence has been Pt.Kumar Gandharva." and the section on Rehman's praise for him. If someone has proper references, please add it here. Rohit (talk) 13:55, 11 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
