Romanisation edit

As per WP:MOS-JP, this article should be moved from Kagetsu Tohya to Kagetsu Tōya. I will do that shortly, unless there are some well-founded objections. mathrick 01:57, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Kagetsu Tohya is the official romanization. Take a look at these screenshots: http://www.crimsonmoon.frih.net/kagetsu_tohya/menu.htm Moogy (talk) 02:26, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
I'd still say it's doubtful. The title page might spell Kagetsu Tohya, but that's the extent of its officialness. It's not actually used by Type-MOON (because they simply write 歌月十夜), nor by any licensee (there ain't going to be any in the foreseeable future), so its impact is quite minimal. Google test also isn't conclusive: Tohya is more popular, but still has long way before it reaches even 1000 matches, and is outnumbered by variants of Tooya, Toya and Touya together. Therefore there hardly is an established presence of the title in English-speaking world, in whatever form.
Simply put: I trust WP:MOS-JP far more than some random Japanese artist including romanised title in the artwork for cool factor. Were it a licensee, they'd at least have the marketing machinery to back them up, a single screenshot doesn't. I consider Japanese themselves to be the least qualified when deciding about romanisation of Japanese, because they simply don't need it and don't care. I wouldn't be qualified to decide how my name is transcribed into Arabic, and for good reasons. For the same reasons I wouldn't consider a lone piece of artwork a guide for official romanisation, even if it is technically included in the product. mathrick 03:34, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • "Kagetsu Tohya": 918 hits
  • "Kagetsu Toya": 379 hits
  • "Kagetsu Touya": 118 hits
  • "Kagetsu Tōya": 31 hits
  • "Kagetsu Tooya": 15 hits

I'm two days late, but your Google fails, Mr. mathrick. Tohya is much more widely used than Tōya, which allows for an exception to MOS-JP, if I recall correctly. It's also official, as Moogy pointed out. Voretustalk 21:14, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
just for kicks because I found this: whether or not you think a japanese can romanize is completely beside the point; that is what is official and that is what is true, and to change it is to lie
also there's a million fucking ways to romanize something so it's not even that; "official romanization" is what is on the title screen in the first place

Title edit

Somebody just gave me a different translation for the title. "Ten Nights of the Singing Moon". If nobody is too fond of the current one ("Ten Nights of the Verses and Moon"), I'll go ahead and change it. Helios 23:29, 13 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think you should go ahead and change it Helios. (By the way I'm shintis from Beast's Lair) -- Psi edit 02:10, 14 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Deletion proposed edit

As stated in the template, the article has multiple problems. In fact it is nothing BUT problems, namely WP:PLOT, WP:ALLPLOT, WP:UNIVERSE, WP:FAN, WP:NOTE. Only the infobox seems to be of value, so I have taken the liberty of copying it onto Tsukihime as Kagetsu is a Tsukihime fandisc and the Tsukihime article does cover it already. 2404:2D00:5000:841:5C9B:A0FA:A047:3541 (talk) 07:45, 20 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Almost the entire article is written from an unencylopedic in-universe perspective (WP:UNIVERSE) covering the story (WP:ALLPLOT, WP:PLOT) filled with unexplained terminology (WP:FAN) and is completely void of sources, including for parts which are clearly speculative/conjecture ("presumably from the "Good Ending" of Arcueid path") or an entire paragraph where someone starts to rant about what is canon like it's their personal blog ("essentially fanfiction" "NOT canon"). A WP:NOTE template has been in place for a year. Since someone decided to remove the PROD without discussing it here I'll just be removing the problematic content instead for now. Also, I would say that the notability template being in place for a year without any contest alone is enough grounds for a PROD. If nobody has anything to say about this I will restore the PROD later. Also, the person who removed the PROD making wild accusations of WP:TAGBOMB ought to actually read WP:TAGBOMB, given how it clearly states: "When several tags do apply to a single article, consider using the Multiple issues tag to group them together." which is precisely what I did. Also, I want to point out that some of the removals which accuse me of WP:TAGBOMB/WP:OVERTAG do not even target any of the tags I added, but ones that were added by other people ages ago. 2404:2D00:5000:841:8CB2:62BA:1B51:E83C (talk) 02:00, 21 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Horror? edit

The article is listed under the scope of WikiProject Horror, which seems highly questionable. I admit it might be arguable if talking about Tsukihime, but it seems ridiculous to suggest that Kagetsu Tohya is horror. 2404:2D00:5000:841:8CB2:62BA:1B51:E83C (talk) 01:26, 21 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
