History

edit

It seems that this article, and many of the ancient terms it references, have an ancient history that is entirely missing. Either the name should indicate that it refers to the present, or it should include or clearly link with coverage of the history. Ranmore (talk) 15:48, 19 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Justices of the Supreme Court

edit

The article as currently written appears to suggest that Justices of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom are subordinate to the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales. The England and Wales Judiciary website states that the Supreme Court is a UK body and is not under the remit of the Lord Chief Justice.

Therefore, should this section be remove from the article?

Qualification period

edit

The article uses the phrase "must satisfy the judicial-appointment eligibility condition on a (7/5)-year basis." 6 times. How is "on a 7 year basis" different to "of 7 years standing"? The difference in phrasing implies a difference in the qualification period. If there is no difference then the simpler phrase should be used, if there is a difference it should be explained. treesmill (talk) 13:33, 6 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Stupid question, but

the salaries are per year, not per month? (German here)--2001:A61:260D:6E01:8DB9:9043:E5B4:4FA4 (talk) 18:16, 11 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

They are annual salaries. I've updated them for the year beginning 1 April 2018. -- Picapica (talk) 14:30, 10 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
