I have removed him from the category Writers in the Leonese language. At his time, the concept of a different Leonese language, different from Castilian, simply did not exist. It’s a twentieth-century concept and there is politics involved, regionalism. He wouldn’t know that a Leonese language even existed, and he didn’t write it without realizing what it was.
