From an obituary in the BROOKLYN DAILY EAGLE, 28 February 1902, pg. 3. JOHN L. MASON: John L. Mason, inventor of the Mason fruit jar, died Wednesday. He was born in Philadelphia, seventy-six years ago. He patented the screw top jar in 1857. Last year he patented an improvement on the jar.
The above quotation says he was born in Philadelphia, but the article says Vineland, New Jersey. Which is correct? The main street in Vineland is Landis Avenue, so that is more likely.--DThomsen8 (talk) 17:38, 24 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Improperly-Cited Quotes

edit

The first five paragraphs of this article appear to be directly quoting from the Edubilla article used in reference 2 (http://www.edubilla.com/inventor/john-landis-mason/), but there's only one citation. 2600:8806:6502:D300:541:3C80:FAB5:9BD3 (talk) 21:59, 21 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
