I have been doing research on my family tree, and I found this document concerning my ancestor, Gilbert Kennedy, Laird of Drumurchie, who was a son of the fourth earl of cassilis:

I realize I should not believe everything I discover on the internet, but I have been doing this for a while, and many of the website I've gone to mention this Laird of Drumurchie as a son of the earl of cassilis, and many of them make no mention of Hew Kennedy, John Kennedy's supposed father. The document I found and put up above states that the Laird of Drumurchie is the father of John Kennedy, not Hew.
