editAll the references I have seen make him a Glaswegian. Any evidence that he was a native of Auchtermuchty? Charles Matthews 20:09, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Link to NOTW phone hacking inquiry?
editAs he was the last UK journalist to face incarceration in the Tower of London for impugning the reputation of MPs, a link to the NOTW scandal seems appropriate.
Has anyone ever investigated whether his allegations were actually true? ie whether the MPs were a bunch of corrupt pigs who jumped the queue for rationed petrol at the time? 212.139.108.215 (talk) 16:14, 14 July 2011 (UTC)PassTheSickBagAlice212.139.108.215 (talk) 16:14, 14 July 2011 (UTC) Think it was normal prison not the Tower of London (last prisoner was during WW2). In those days it was assumed that they were honourable men and women so I guess most people took them at their word. So yes they were probably as guilty as hell. Ivor Novello got sent to Wormwood Scrubs during WW2 over his petrol coupons. --Shylocksboy (talk) 20:05, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
Significance of Auchtermuchty
editJunor frequently mentioned the small town of Auchtermuchty in Fife.
- Is it true that he reckoned that British grass-roots opinion could be judged by interviewing the people of Auchtermuchty? Valetude (talk) 22:45, 9 October 2015 (UTC)
