"Mr Chamberlain" edit

The reference to "Mr Chamberlain's proposals for tariff reform" is better rendered as a reference to Joseph Chamberlain's proposals. Although his son, Austen Chamberlain, was the Chancellor of the Exchequer at the time, it was the father's campaign that created the upheaval in Unionist ranks. Austen played only a secondary role.
