Unclear notability

edit

The only thing I can find on Google is an obituary, and on google books there are mostly genealogies and histories of New York that only mention his name. Unless someone can produce a source that seriously discusses his work, this looks like a non-starter. --Slashme (talk) 13:39, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Headline of the NY Times obit reads "Artist Was Widely Known for His Landscapes and Studies of Still Life." Sounds notable to me, and the NYT is certainly a reliable source. Not a free article -- perhaps a subscriber can flesh out the stub. Cheers, Pete Tillman (talk) 16:19, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hrrmf. I won't fight it, but I'd like to see a source other than an obit, though. If he was so notable, surely he would have been written about in some or other art book? --Slashme (talk) 21:23, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
