Actually, Galle did not name the new planet. Instead, the name was proposed by Urbain Le Verrier. See the relevant section in the Neptune article. Awolf002 02:20, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

(in english version of 19-May 2013 02:15) The link (on the left-hand side) to the "Deutch" version points to http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pechofen (which is an existing article, but not the correct one)

The correct page can be reached via e.g. the french version to the correct http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johann_Gottfried_Galle
