What is Jeremy Wade's DOB?

edit

Has this (his date of birth) been revealed yet? He is so elusive! 68.103.71.44 (talk) 17:33, 6 June 2009 (UTC) —- his laotian mugshot is cited as the source of his birthdate though it reads 5-5-60. he was born in 1956 (30th birthday celebrated in india in 1986) so the mugshot can't be cited as a proper source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.210.43.53 (talk) 04:53, 6 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

He co-wrote Somewhere Down The Crazy River with Paul Boote

Cite: http://www.jeremywade.co.uk/about_jeremy_wade.html

Direct quote from that page:

"In 1992 he co-wrote (with Paul Boote) 'Somewhere Down The Crazy River' - a book that is considered to be one of the classics of angling literature. He has also written on travel and natural history for publications including The Times, Guardian, Sunday Telegraph, The Field and BBC Wildlife magazine."

His full name is Jeremy John Wade, and he has a postgrad teaching degree from Kent University and has taught secondary school biology. Quote from the page I linked above: "He has a degree in zoology from Bristol University and a postgrad teaching certificate in biological sciences from the University of Kent, and has worked as a secondary school biology teacher."

The full title of the book he co-wrote is: "Somewhere Down the Crazy River: Journeys in Search of Giant Fish - Story of the Rediscovery of the Indian Mahseer and the Goliath Tigerfish of the Congo" as well. 68.103.71.162 (talk) 17:08, 29 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Partly done The info in the interview indicates the incident occurred in 1984 rather than 1985 and does not specify the country, only that it occurred on the Mekong River. I added the citation but changed the text so that information from the interview supports text in the article. If the change is a problem, let me know here (I'll watch for a week or so). The interview would be weak for establishing notability but is OK to support this part of the article. My apology for this not being taken care of sooner. the size of northern pike.

edit

i watched an episode of Jeremy fishing in Scotland i believe for a rare kind of northern pike that could reach 40-50 lbs. And if memory serves some talk about 30 lbs being about as big as they got. my hearing is not the best, so forgive me if i mis heard. But if anyone is under that impression, id like to invite your team to visit havre, MT. Because our pike here, regularly pass those specks, by far. 5 ft long is kinda rare, but caught every year. thank you Scott Gorman 184.167.196.244 (talk) 00:09, 1 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

freshwater detective?

edit

"From the lead: "Jeremy John Wade (born 23 March 1956) is a British television presenter, an author of books on angling, a freshwater detective, and a biologist."

What is a "freshwater detective"? Nothing in the article follows up with this. Joyous! Noise! 03:52, 7 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
