Born

edit

Where exactly was she born? I've seen several sources say she was born in Sioux Falls, but this article says it was Brookings. Which is it? - Lex 06:08, 9 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

That is a good question. I went to school with her at Laura Wilder Elementary in Sioux Falls (starting 5th grade when I moved to that hell hole) and if I remember right she was new at the same time I was. That would lend credence to the Brookings story. She moved out of SD in 94 or 95 for a modeling career in LA...she beat me out by 2 yrs ok I digress. I have a few friends that I still talk to back there that keep in touch with her...i'll pose the question and see what I can find. Tbkflav 18:36, 1 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

When she was on Inside the Actor's Studio with the cast of Mad Men, she says she was born in Brookings. I'll see if I can change it.Tap1981 (talk) 20:45, 13 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Origin of the name January? Relation to the other January Jones?

edit

IMDb lists another January Jones [1] as an actress in two films in the 1960s and a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson on September 30, 1975. Is this a relation to the January Jones born in 1978? January is a pretty unusual name for a girl; is it her birth name and if so why did her parents name her that? --Mathew5000 10:18, 16 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Possibly a bit frivolous, but evidently she is named after January Wayne, a character in Jacqueline Susann's Once Is Not Enough.[2] I've added to the article. Perhaps she will marry me for having set the record straight on this important point? --JayHenry (talk) 06:18, 19 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Daughter of Tommy Lee Jones

edit

I hink it is an interesting fact worth adding —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mizanthrop (talkcontribs) 08:26, 23 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

According to this source, she is of no relation to the actor-director Tommy Lee Jones. dissolvetalk 09:33, 23 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
Hmm, you are correct. My bad --KpoT (talk) 06:22, 24 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Reliable Source?

edit

In www.callitlikeiseeit.com a RS for the material added about the X-Men review controversy? --BweeB (talk) 08:44, 21 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • Quite simply, no--and particularly no for a WP:BLP. LHM 00:30, 30 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Filmography

edit

January Jones did not hold any character at The Glass House, as mentioned on her filmography. The girl on this movie in fact was Leelee Sobieski. You can check both on Leelee Sobieski article and The Glass House movie article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 57.68.10.193 (talk) 14:21, 5 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Relationship history

edit

@Hullaballoo Wolfowitz:, if we are following WP:BLPCAT (like we are suppose to), I don't see how we can't include significant relationships in Jones' life. She is a very public person and has had numerous high profile relationships that are relevant to her notability. Joef1234 (talk) 01:39, 2 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

As Jimbo Wales pointed out a few years ago, an encyclopedia does not "chronicle every single twist and turn of celebrity romances". Consensus practice is that non-current "relationships"/romances which don't have a documented impact on the article subject's life or career don't have enough encyclopedic value to merit inclusion in a Wikipedia biography. I typically remove one to two dozen of such mentions every week, and I don't believe that more than 1 to 2% have been at all controversial. The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo).
