James Gregory's Gregorian telescope edit

James Gregory's Gregorian telescope was not the the first successful reflecting telescope, that would be Isaac Newton's Newtonian reflector. Newton's would also be the first successful design. Gregory's design was also not the first design. Niccolò Zucchi, Bonaventura Cavalieri, amd Marin Mersenne all had designs predating Gregory (not to mention René Descartes, and maybe even Galileo, Giovanni Francesco Sagredo, and Cesare Caravaggi)[1]. 70.211.60.128 (talk) 21:17, 7 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
