Jack Abramoff leaves a federal court in Washington, DC after pleading guilty to charges of wire fraud, corruption, and conspiracy in the Indian lobbying scandal. In the now-famous picture, Abramoff cut an imposing figure in a dark black trenchcoat and matching hat. Although many reporters commented that the hat made Abramoff resemble The Godfather, Author Stephen Hirsch at Salon.com pointed out that the hat Abramoff was wearing is a borsalino, which is commonly worn by Orthodox Jews.

Connection to 9-11 terrorists edit

This is wildly speculative, and has no reliable sources. Furthermore, Abramoff had already divested himself at the time of the allegation. Let's not blame every evil in the last ten years on him. It needs to be removed. On the other hand, I don't see anything on the Marianas Islands scandal here, and it needs to be added. -- Sholom 22:25, 7 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
