The lead says (uncited), "During the 1970s, the organization was probably merged into the Italian Sons and Daughters of America." This contradicts text later in the article, and was added without citations in March of last year. The "probably" hedging is very odd, and not very encyclopedic.
Under "History" it says, "The Union was absorbed by the Italian Sons and Daughters of America Fraternal Association in 1991." This is cited to "Axelrod p. 187-8." Under "Membership," the article says that "In 1994 it was reported to have 5,000 members in 34 locals." This is also cited to "Axelrod p.187-8," and was added in the same edit. No works by anyone named "Axelrod" are listed as sources in the article, making this a little hard to double-check. This isn't a case of a cited reference being accidentally removed by a later edit, either- when the "Axelrod" citations were added (in this edit), it was as bare page numbers with no clear referent, and it's remained that way for over seven years. Maybe it's legitimate, maybe not, but a Google Books search doesn't turn up works by an "Axelrod" in combination with the terms "Italian-American National Union" or "Unione Siciliana," leaving me at a dead end.
