Banned?

edit

I removed the claim they are banned in the EU as no ref was provided supporting it. They may or may not be banned, but our article doesn't mention any ban List of air carriers banned in the European Union nor does the EU list. Itek Air is indeed banned, and they operated the flight that crashed, but it's not clear to me that Aseman Airlines is banned as well. Nil Einne (talk) 10:02, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

It can be confusing...but...This type scenerio is common in this part of the world. The plane was owned/registered to Itek Air, and painted as an Itek Air plane. Since Itek is a Kyrgyz company, then the plane cannot be flown to the EU. The flight # itself was "IRC 6895" (Iran Aseman Air), but is dual-listed by both companies. Since Itek is so small, they generally don't have anything but the plane (often on a wet lease); will lack crews and ground crews, and no counter staff. They'll rely on other airline staff for check-in, and the passenger's probably had tickets on Kyrgyzstan Airlines ticket stock. The maintenance issues at Manas International Airport that led to the EU ban on 29 Jul 2008 directly affect this aircraft, and it is part of the ban. The translations don't work well, and there are national pride issues...so Itek Air claimed it was their flight acting as a charter to IRC, even though it was listed as an IRC flight. Same scenerio happened to me taking an Imair Airlines flight using Uzbekistan Airlines ticket stock on a Turan Air plane. You're right though, that other actual planes owned by IRC that fly other routes are not affected by the ban. --Broomekw (talk) 03:53, 29 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Neutrality?

edit

"The IAA Maintenance, Engineering and Supply Department, by utilizing, its experienced and highly trained engineers, " isn't exaclty neutral, its almost an advertisement. Wikipedia isn't meant for that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:470:1F15:FFE:9878:9099:1198:282E (talk) 18:59, 14 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Crash

edit

This is an edit that should never be made in the world of aviation.

BBC reported flight EP3704 crashed during a routine flight. Some updates were made to the airline's page, an article on the crash itself ought to be created when enough sources come to light. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TrevorABrown (talkcontribs) 08:50, 18 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

IATA code: EP

edit

How did they choose EP as their initials? What does it stand for? 2.176.222.45 (talk) 07:10, 27 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
