Info → Info (disambiguation) – (edited) Info should redirect to Information as a primary redirect based on that being the origin and most common (informal) usage of the term and the most-visited page by far. Sangdeboeuf (talk) 11:21, 22 April 2018 (UTC)

• Oppose per WP:NOTDICT (Wikipedia is not a dictionary). No evidence is provided that "information" is the primary encyclopedic topic for info. —  AjaxSmack  14:31, 22 April 2018 (UTC)

    • I don't dispute that, but there is no evidence that people searching for "info" are seeking an article on information. It doesn't even show up in the top 50 Google web hits for "info". —  AjaxSmack  23:55, 22 April 2018 (UTC)
      • That actually seems like an argument for making Information the primary topic and placing it in a brief explanatory sentence above "X may refer to" per WP:DABDIC. As WP:DABPRIMARY states, "Since it is unlikely that this primary topic is what readers are looking for if they have reached the disambiguation page, it should not be mixed in with the other links", unlike with the current layout. —Sangdeboeuf (talk) 04:33, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
• Support - All of the items on the DAB, except the Fortean group, derive their names from the shortened form of "information". Even the band ("The name Info comes from the word information"). -- Netoholic @ 20:30, 22 April 2018 (UTC)
  • Etymologies are interesting, but what does that have to do with what people are searching for in an encyclopedia? —  AjaxSmack  22:32, 22 April 2018 (UTC)
    • Well, what do article titles have to do with searching, really? Most people find their way here via context and keyword searches which will find an article under any title we choose to give it. Do we really think there are a lot of people typing "info" in the search box? No evidence for that and in fact the pageviews for 'info' vs 'information' are infinitesimal and that counts ALL methods of reaching the page. This discussion isn't about moving an article, its about handling a DAB and a redirect. "info" is pretty clearly means "information" primarily. The couple of people a month who type "info" in the search box here will not be WP:ASTONISHed to land at Information, where they will find a link to the info (disambiguation) page at the top of that article. -- Netoholic @ 02:45, 23 April 2018 (UTC)

• Oppose - Whilst I agree info should redirect to Information at the end of the day it makes more sense to keep this page as a disambiguation - If editors want "Information" they can click on such or if they want the Linux one then again they can click on such... –Davey2010^Talk 19:52, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
