Who was supposed to be the new Emperor? edit

This article is very interesting but it has one serious flaw: it mentions two possible candidates for the throne but does not explain why they were considered for such position. Were they descendants of the Inca rulers? If yes, from who? --Lecen (talk) 14:49, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Very good! But, Dionisio Inca Yupanqui, beyond being an aristocrat, was he a descendant of the Incas? Is it possible to find a source for it? The only remaining suggestion I have is that you should add a few pictures in this article. It looks quite good and with a little more of information it should be nominated to good article. --Lecen (talk) 20:46, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
I haven't seen any mention of it. He was a descendant of the Incas (meaning, the Inca civilization), but I haven't found any mention of him being descendant of Incan nobility (or whatever standed for that in that culture). It seems that he wasn't proposed because of that, but because he was one of the few (if not the only) incas that had become politically note-worthy, so there wasn't much to choose from. Remember that the Incan monarchy was ended 3 centuries before, this wasn't like restoring the House of Bourbon after the Peninsular War (even if Ferdinand VII was executed by Napoleon rather than imprisoned, there would still be many other Bourbons around to take the crown when Napoleon was driven away from the peninsula). Just added more info edit

I added plenty of interesting info into the article, although it is quite awkward. At least it makes easier to any reader to understand exactly what were the monarchist's plans to the former Spanish American colonies, In fact, I believe this article and the one devoted to Carlotism should be merged and perhaps its name should be changed to "Monarchism in Argentina" or "Plans to establish a monarchy in Argentina" or similar. As you can see, Carlotism was part of the Inca plan or vice-versa. A little of re-wording, expansion, etc, would turn this article into a fine one. An interesting source edit

I found a very interesting book about monarchism restoration attempts in Ecuador in the 19th century. Its introduction could be very helpful with this article since it has information about monarchism in Hispanic America in the same period. Its title is "King of the night: Juan José Flores and Ecuador, 1824-1864" If anyone is interested in reading it, here is the link: [1]. Regards, --Lecen (talk) 20:12, 11 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
