Notability edit

Good Day.

I believe that the article for the film Hyenas (2010 film) should not be deleted as the article has been filled out and as there is another film of the same name from 1992 directed by Djibril Diop Mambéty. Numerous references have also been provided and the film is listed on several Wikipedia pages for some of the cast members.

The relevant notability guide is WP:Notability (films), please take a moment to examine the criteria there and explain which reliable sources demonstrate the film is notable. I would normally expect something like an internationally recognized award or significant impact such as citations to reviews in quality national newspapers (like the New York Times or The Guardian). Whilst I understand that and I am currently researching to find such items should not be that the article should be flagged for improvement and not deletion as the film can be verified as exisiting from the references listed. Does not the MPAA rating show enough validity to keep the article?Invisec (talk) 07:19, 22 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
You might be misunderstanding the notability tag, this is intended to flag the article for improvement from other editors, it does not directly result in deletion. See Deletion policy for the types of template used for deletion. Thanks, (talk) 07:22, 22 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
I see where you are coming from. I believe you are correct, I haven't seen the notability tag before and that with "deletion" probably threw me off. My apologises. Thanks for the help. Invisec (talk) 07:31, 22 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
