Photos edit

I've uploaded one photo, and linked to the rest of my gallery. If anyone sees any in particular in the gallery that would be valuable for the article, or which would be nice in Commons:Category:Huntly Castle then leave a note on my talk page and I'll upload it. Haunted category edit

I would question why this article is in Category:Reportedly haunted locations in Scotland. There is nothing in the article that mentions ghosts or hauntings. If there are reports of such paranormal activity at Huntly Castle (that can be obtained from sources and cited) then they should be added to the article. If not, then I would suggest that the article is removed from this category. Dunarc (talk) 22:34, 30 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

I have now removed the article from the category for the reasons outlined. If someone adds content showing that there are notable reports of paranormal activity etc then it can be put back in. Dunarc (talk) 20:55, 11 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Copyvio issue:Text is in Public Domain edit

Seems to be triggered mostly by this quote: " James Gordon Parson of Rothiemay tells us how the house "was preserved from being rifled or defaced, except some emblems and imagery, which looked somewhat popish and superstitious lycke; and therefore, by the industry of one captain James Wallace (one of Munro's foote captaines) were hewd and brocke doune off the frontispiece of the house; but all the rest of the frontispiece containing Huntly's scutcheon, etc, was left untouched, as it stands to this daye.""

This is not something owned in copyright by any website and is a quote from a published article: W. Simpson, 'The Architectural History of Huntly Castle', Proceedings of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, vol. 56 (1922), p. 62. The entire article can be read here, http://journals.socantscot.org/index.php/psas/article/view/7540

Other phrases such as "common quarry" and historical details in this section come from this 1922 article and may be cited from it.

I hope with the addition of the citation provided above the article can be restored to its previous appearance.Unoquha (talk) 02:04, 26 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
