Re:Merge

edit

I'm not convinced. Most times where a lake is formed by a dam there are separate articles on Wikipedia for the two: Lake Dunstan and Clyde Dam, for instance, or Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. The article on the lake needs expanding, not merging. Grutness...wha? 07:57, 24 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

I've commenced a major clean-up of Lake Hume and have requested a technical move to migrate this article from Lake Hume to Hume Dam in line with work that I am doing on all man-made reservoirs in New South Wales. Articles exist for natural lakes (e.g. Lake Cowal, Lake Cargelligo, Wallace Lake, etc.). Yet where they are man-made reservoirs, the principal focus should be on the dam that created the lake and not the reservoir itself, unless it is culturally significant, e.g. Lake Burragorang, the Snowy Mountains Scheme, etc. Rangasyd (talk) 00:49, 19 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Dam construction cost is incorrect

edit

The construction cost listed for Hume Dam is incorrect. The listed cost is 1) a proposed cost, not an actual cost; and 2) it is only for the hydropower plant not the dam. The actual cost of Hume dam was about $30.5m (pers comm. KE Johnson, executive engineer River Murray Commission 16th December 1976) or $555m in 2011 dollars .CuanPetheram (talk) 07:37, 9 September 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by CuanPetheram (talkcontribs) 07:24, 9 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
