Career Section Update

My conflict of interest is that I am an employee of the British Olympic Association. I seek to be fully compliant with the COI policies and hope to work with all editors for the improvement of the page.

I am requesting to update the Parliamentary Career section on this page. My suggestion is to change this title to Career so that it can include all recent appointments. This should include being appointed as Chair of the British Olympic Association in November 2016, overseeing Team GB’s performance at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, where the team won a record five medals. Prior to that he was appointed Vice-Chair in October 2015 and as stand-in Chair oversaw Team GB’s participation in Rio de Janeiro, where the team finished second in the medal table with 67 medals

Additionally, Robertson was appointed as Chair of Camelot in June 2018. Camelot is the operator of The National Lottery. Reference

To clarify, Sir Hugh Robertson was appointed Vice Chair of the British Olympic Association in 2015, prior to becoming the British Olympic Association Chairman in 2016 additional reference

As the Vice Chairman of the British Olympic Association Sir Hugh Robertson led Team GB’s participation in Rio de Janeiro, where the team finished second in the medal table with 67 medals

I've been through the page and fixed a few issues relating to the autobiographical tone and sourcing. I've removed several claims for which there's no real public record and ensured that there are up-to-date sources for professional appointments and personal life matters.

Page Title Update

My conflict of interest is that I have had communication with Robertson himself, but I hope to be COI compliant and make changes that reflect factual, public information about his career.

I'm proposing that the title of the page is changed from Hugh Robertson (politician) to Hugh Robertson (businessman), as his current positions are chiefly advisory and board roles to private organisations. The350club (talk) 15:59, 6 March 2024 (UTC)
